This little Pinecone Squirrel is the latest addition to our fall nature table. I love to make seasonal nature crafts, especially out of things we have found on our nature walks. We have a lot of pine trees where I live, so we make a lot of crafts out of pinecones and pine needles. In the past we have made witches brooms out of pine needles, and a bee out of a pinecone. We use our Tree Identification Cards to study the pine tree and pine cones before our make out crafts. The boys love making things out of what we find in nature! We have a lot of pinecone crafts! How to Make a Pinecone Squirrel

Instructions
- Collect pinecones on a nature walk with your children. Collect some pine needles for the tail.
- Cut out some pieces of felt for the squirrel’s face and ears.
- Adhere the wood beads with hot glue to the felt to make the squirrel’s eyes and nose.
- Hot glue pine needles to the squirrel’s butt to make a fluffy tail.
- Glue 2 wood beads to the pinecone to make the squirrel’s hands. Glue a mini pinecone or acorn to hold in his hands.
- Glue the ears to the top of the head.
- You’ve got a pinecone squirrel!
