My boys have been a little obsessed with witches this fall! On one of our nature walks we collected a bunch of pine needles and tried to think of a craft to make with them. We identified the tree, pine needles and pine cones with our Tree Identification Cards and recorded our observations in our Little Tree Books. Then we decided to make little witches brooms for our nature table.

A stick
Pine Needles
String
Instructions
- Gather your stick and a pile of pine needles.
- Hold your pine needles in a fist over your stick.
- Wrap a pieces of string over the pine needles around your stick as tightly as you can.
- Tie a knot.
- You’re done!
